Confessions is the 4th studio album by American singer-songwriter Usher. It was originally released on March 23, 2004 by Arista Records. Primarily an R&B album, Confessions showcases Usher as a crooner through a mix of ballads and up-tempos, with musical genres such as dance-pop, hip-hop and crunk. The album’s themes caused controversy over Usher’s personal relationships; however, the album’s lead producer, Jermaine Dupri, claimed that the album reflects Dupri’s own personal story.
