The vision string quartet made its Warner Classics debut last year with an album of Schubert and Mendelssohn. Now the four players leap into a strikingly different space with 13 numbers they have composed, arranged and produced themselves. Using their instruments in a variety of ways, they evoke folk, pop, rock, funk, minimalism and the work of singer-songwriters – and the sounds of the guitar, ukulele, bass, bongos and even a drum set.
The quartet’s members describe Spectrum as “an unprecedented musical adventure without borders, shaped by personal experiences, new and old encounters, and subtle impressions from different cultures.”
